What is the ISSA?

The International Sports Sciences Association is an organization that operates as a teaching institution
and certification agency for fitness trainers, athletic trainers, aerobics instructors, and medical professionals.
Established in 1988 the ISSA has issued since then over 180,000 certifications. This for profit organization is the first American organization accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The program only offers self-study but offers a dedicated support staff and phone and email assistance. You have to take a series of quizzes online before gaining access to your final exam The 100 exam and t0 question practical is offered either via computer or can be taken via paper and pencil.

Studying with Phi –Sports Management

  • Courses will be held either in the office or in a classroom in eight sessions each of which will be of 5 hours within a period of only two months
  • At the end of the studying phase a 3-hours-exam will finish the course. The exam will consist of:
  • 160 questions (true/false; multiple choice)
  • 1 case study
  • After successful exam the student will get an ISSA Certificate (USA).
    To be admitted to the exam procedure all students have to prove the completion of a CPR Qualification as well as to show a valid First Aid Certificate.
